OUR WORK
FCDO HARP-TPM PROJECT
FACT is implementing the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) Humanitarian and Resilience Programme (HARP) Third-Party Monitoring (TPM) project in consortium with IMPACT Initiatives. The project provides continuous, independent monitoring of humanitarian activities implemented by HARP partners, including WFP, UNICEF, and CARE, across Northeast and Northwest Nigeria. It involves periodic field data collection, in-depth analysis, and reporting on program delivery, risk management, and safeguarding to ensure accountability, learning, and improved decision-making for humanitarian response.
UMBRELLA FUND FOR GEOSPATIAL INTERVENTIONS: Implementing Geospatial Landscaping Insights in Priority Geographies
FACT is partnering with Dev-Afrique Development Advisors under the Umbrella Fund for Geospatial Interventions to strengthen Nigeria’s geospatial health data ecosystem. The project focuses on developing and piloting a tailored geospatial health data curriculum in collaboration with accredited Nigerian institutions, integrating real-world case studies from health programs such as polio, malaria, and immunization. The initiative aims to institutionalize sustainable, locally driven training and capacity-building programs that enhance the use of geospatial insights for improved health planning and service delivery.
GRID3 Geospatial Mapping-Bayelsa and Oyo
FACT is partnering with GRID3 to support Nigeria’s 2025 measles campaign through geospatial data collection in Oyo and Bayelsa States. The project focuses on mapping settlements, health facilities, and key landmarks to strengthen microplanning for vaccination and other health interventions. By improving the accuracy of spatial datasets, the initiative enhances evidence-based planning, delivery, and monitoring of health programs, ultimately supporting more effective and inclusive service delivery
Microplan Support for the April 2025 Polio Campaign
FACT, in collaboration with Solina Centre for International Development and Research (SCIDaR), provided microplanning support for the April 2025 Polio Campaign across six high-priority states in Northern Nigeria. The project focused on strengthening the quality and accuracy of microplans by validating settlements, updating team workloads, and ensuring inclusive coverage of remote communities. This initiative improved campaign preparedness, enhanced vaccination reach, and contributed to more effective and equitable polio eradication efforts.
TPM - SBC resilient and social cohesion peace project in Bade Yobe state and Shani Borno state
FACT conducted Third-Party Monitoring (TPM) for UNICEF’s Resilience and Social Cohesion Peace Project in Bade (Yobe State) and Shani (Borno State). The project assessed the effectiveness and impact of interventions across WASH, Health, Nutrition, Education, Livelihoods, and Conflict Resolution. Through quarterly monitoring and beneficiary engagement, FACT documented progress, captured lessons learned, and highlighted stories of change that showcased the project’s contribution to peacebuilding and community resilience in Northeast Nigeria.
Implementation of the e-CRVS system in Nigeria
FACT is partnering with New Digital Legacy on eCRVS implementation in Nigeria. The eCRVS implementation project is the first phase of the digital transformation of CRVS in Nigeria.
The program is being implemented by the National Population Commission with the support of UNICEF and aims to strengthen the CRVS systems in Nigeria, by creating digitally enabled and effective service delivery models that will extend access to registration to even the remotest areas and by using data exchange standards so that civil registration data are secure yet interoperable with other government systems in Nigeria, all in a cost effective manner.
The eCRVS Implementation Project has the following high-level objectives:
- Identify effective SOPs and associated change management for digitised birth registration service delivery, suitable for scaling across 774 LGAs in Nigeria.
- Measure significant improvements in birth registration completeness rates (within legally stipulated period and < 1 year of birth) and use as evidence for the investment case for scale.
- Measure the cost-effectiveness of digitised birth registration service delivery and use as evidence for the investment case for scale.
Enhancing displacement and mobility needs tracking, inter-sectorial needs assessment and monitoring displaced populations in Borno, Adamawa, and Yobe (States, North-east Nigeria and improving communication with communities.
FACT, in coordination with the IOM-DTM, will carry out Inter-Sector Needs Assessment (Once a year), Needs Assessment – integrated into IOM Mobility Tracking (4 times a year), and Rapid Assessment when requested by the ISCG and ISWG – Ad-hoc requests.
The main objective of the project is to gather critical data that will provide a comprehensive understanding of the needs and vulnerabilities of crisis-affected persons in the BAY states of north-east Nigeria. This will further inform the Humanitarian Needs Overview (HNO) and Humanitarian Response Plan (HRP) for 2023, ISCG and AAWG for more coordinated humanitarian assistance in areas of the BAY States that are not covered by DTM. expected outcomes
Outcome 1: Enhanced Inter-Sector Coordination Group (ISCG) data collection and dissemination at the household level to fill the information gap on Joint Inter-sectoral Analysis Framework (JIAF)
Cash Barometer Assessments in Adamawa, Borno and Yobe States
FACT is collaborating with Ground Truth Solutions (GTS) on Cash Barometer and other Cash related assessments in Nigeria. The first assessment was completed in 2021 which was a survey of internally displaced people (IDPs), returnees, and residents affected by crisis in Borno, Adamawa, and Yobe States, Nigeria, who have received cash and voucher assistance (CVA) in the last 12 month. The assessment will be repeated in 2022 and in subsequent years.
Covid-19 - Maiduguri Social Contact Survey Results
FACT In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, FF in close collaboration with Emory University conducted social contact surveys to establish the determinants of how infectious diseases spread through community (host and IDPs) networks and households. This survey was conducted to aid the Borno State COVID-19 task force team to efficiently model and extrapolate the spread of the virus for adequate planning
Nutrition, Morbidity and Mortality Survey – Bama & Magumeri Local Government Areas - 2019
In December 2018, FACT conducted a multi-sectoral needs assessment in hard-to-reach LGAs in Borno for INTERSOS, also that same year, FACT Foundation conducted Knowledge Attitude and Practice (KAP) survey that focused on Food Security, Livelihood, Psychosocial Support (PSS), WASH and GBV in Magumeri, Bama, Ngala, and Dikwa.
